The Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology in Arusha is accredited by the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU), is being developed into a research intensive institution for postgraduate and postdoctoral studies and research in Science, Engineering and Technology. There are four sub institutions in it, which are the School of Business Studies and Humanities, the School of Computing and Communication Science and Engineering, the School of Life Sciences and Bioengineering, and the School of Materials Science, Energy, Water and Environmental Sciences.
